Saline MI

Saline is a City South of Ann Arbor in Washtenaw County.  It's name came from Native Americans who traveled to what is now Saline to hunt wildlife and gather salt from the salt springs they found nearby.  The city is popular for its annual Celtic Festival, which attracts people from all over the United States and its sister cities Brecon, Wales, United Kingdom and Lindenberg, Germany.  Manufacturing related operations probably account for the majority industry of in the Saline area.  The largest single employer in the Saline area is Faurecia, an international automotive parts manufacturer. The University of Michigan is perhaps the second largest employer of Salinians.  Ask anyone who lives, works, or owns a business in Saline and they're almost sure to tell you some variation of this thought: "We're a friendly, family-oriented town."  In Saline you'll find upscale shops, restaurants, and services in and around the quaint, intimate downtown area.  The housing immediately downtown reflects the era of establishment with beautiful Victorian homes.  A few blocks away you will find quiet neighborhoods with modest homes and some newer condominium developments.  Further out you will find country subdivisions with newer and larger homes.
