Dexter MI

Dexter is a city in Washtenaw County along the banks of the Huron River and Mill Creek and is a friendly town of approximately 5,000 residents.  In addition to the community parks located within the City, there are several Huron-Clinton Metroparks within easy driving distance.  Residents and visitors can enjoy a day on a river, walking along nature trails, or biking on the County Border-to-Border trail, stopping in our historic downtown for lunch and some shopping.  Cultural activities include a local theater, historical museum, summer concerts, ice skating in the winter, festivals, and simply playing in the parks.  Between 2000 and 2010, Dexter's population grew 73.9%, making it one of the fastest growing communities in the state.  The Dexter Cider Mill, open since 1866, is family owned and operated and is the oldest continuously operating cider mill in Michigan using a wood press to make cider from fresh apples.  Residential communities include Victorian style homes in the downtown area, mid-century stye ranches and bungalows, more contemporary homes on large lots in subdivisions and country/farm houses on several acres in the outlying rural areas.
